WHAT CAUSES VARICOSE VEINS AND WHO IS AT RISK?

Varicose veins occur in the failure of the leg veins. It is the insufficiency of the valves in the veins and consequently, instead of going to the heart, the blood escapes backwards and collects in the dilated (varicose) veins in the leg.

-Women

TREATMENT

It is evaluated according to the results of Colour Doppler Ultrasound and different treatments are applied to small, medium and large varicose veins.

1- NON-SURGICAL TREATMENTS: Application of non-surgical treatments for the last 20 years All types of varicose veins (capillary, green-coloured or large) can be treated without surgery. This is the most effective treatment in the world.

2- Drug treatments, compression stockings, exercise, weight loss can be used from time to time. However, these treatments only reduce the complaints related to varicose veins, they do not eliminate varicose veins.

Varicose vein cream does not treat varicose veins.

At chestnut does not treat varicose veins.

Compression stockings do not treat varicose veins.

No medication, herbal or not, will cure varicose veins.

The above-mentioned things can alleviate the symptoms of varicose veins. However, they do not cure varicose veins.

3-Surgical treatment is very rarely applied today.

WHAT ARE THE NON-SURGICAL TREATMENT METHODS?

Non-surgical varicose vein treatment is a procedure performed under local anaesthesia, which is completely painless or you will feel small needle pains. Although the duration of the procedure varies from patient to patient, it can take from 15 minutes to 1 hour. Depending on the density of varicose veins in your leg, sometimes more than one session may be required for the procedure. After the colour doppler ultrasound, the necessary information will be given and the appropriate treatment options will be decided together with you.

1-Radiofrequency or Laser: These are devices that are placed into the vein with ultrasound guidance, precisely through places as thin as a pinhole and close the varicose vein by giving heat to the vein wall. These are the most commonly used methods.

2-Treatment of varicose veins with adhesive: It is a newer treatment method. Although it has advantages, it is primarily more costly.

3-Foam or Liquid treatment (Sclerotherapy): The treatment called sclerotherapy is to enter the varicose veins with thin needles, sometimes using ultrasound, and treat these veins with special medications. It is particularly effective in the treatment of capillary varicose veins and green coloured varicose veins. Sclerotherapy can be used alone or in combination with other methods.

DOES VARICOSE VEINS RECUR AFTER TREATMENT?

Large vessel insufficiencies detected by colour Doppler ultrasound almost never recur after treatment.

Capillary and green-coloured varicose veins, which are visible from the outside, do not recur at the treated site, but may reoccur elsewhere at a later time. In this case, the procedure can be repeated if necessary.

Due to the development of non-surgical treatment methods, varicose veins recur less frequently today.

IF WE LEAVE THE VARICOSE VEINS ALONE, WILL IT GO AWAY?

If you leave your job or retire and can lie on your back on the couch all day with your feet slightly elevated, we may not treat varicose veins.

However, in all other cases varicose veins disease progresses more and moreit gets worse. You must be treated. During this waiting period, varicose veins will progress and treatment will become more difficult.

WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STAGE IN DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF VARIS DISEASE?

Colour Ultrasound (Doppler Ultrasonography) examination in experienced hands is the most important stage in the treatment of varicose veins.

This examination is the most important factor in determining whether your treatment will be carried out appropriately, whether you will be travelling from doctor to doctor, and whether your pain will go away. It should be done meticulously, properly, with time and most importantly in experienced hands.

WHAT AWAITS YOU AFTER TREATMENT?

After the procedure, we put on your compression stockings and put you on your feet. We walk you for a while and then send you to your home or work.

There is usually no harm in returning to your work and normal life after the procedure.

We inform you about the necessary controls afterwards and congratulate you on getting rid of this disease together.

We met Mrs Gülden in a panic with the complaint of bleeding in my anus, she diagnosed haemeroid and I had a comfortable healing process. The main thing that impressed me was that I went through this whole process without worrying with the calmness and empathy of Mrs Gülden.
